Nurses who graduate from MSN programs that prepare Nurse Practitioners are licensed as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) by the Delaware Board of Nursing.
Nursing licensure requirements for licensure include: licensure as an RN; a master's degree or a post-basic program certificate in a clinical nursing specialty with certification from a national certification body recognized by the Board.
They either meet a specified number of practice hours in the role and population focus you are applying for within the past 2-5 years or have graduated from a specialty program within the previous two years. Additionally, newly licensed APRNs who have not practiced for at least 2 years or 4,000 hours must have a collaborative agreement with a physician.
Nurse leaders may be licensed as either an APRN or RN, depending on their individual training and educational background. RN licensure in Delaware is available either by examination or endorsement.
